Cape Cobra
Another poisonous snake from the African continent is the Cape Cobra. It can be found in many different habitats and the often venture into villages to escape intense heat or to look for rodents. They are not very welcomed guests and when they are approached, the snake will raise its forebody from the ground and spreads out its hood making it look mean and keen to fight. It will strike swiftly delivering a neurotoxic bite that is life-threatening. Cape Cobras do not spit, so if you happen to meet one, keep your eyes open and run.
